At Brigshaw we are proud of our inclusive ethos that gives every child a chance of success. We believe that high quality guidance and support is essential in helping young people become tolerant, confident, independent learners in todays modern Britain.
During their time at Brigshaw, each pupil belongs to a House and a Tutor Group. Our House Leaders take overall responsibility for pupils’ personal, social and academic development, supported by House Officers who remain with each House and ensure that all pupils are able to fulfil their potential. These are support members of staff who are always on call to deal with day-to-day incidents and are an initial contact point for parents/carers.
At any stage of their school career young people may need specialist support to overcome obstacles to learning and progress. We have a number of colleagues who provide additional support and guidance for pupils and students including work with Leeds Faith in Schools, Teaching Assistants, members of our Inclusion Team, an Attendance Improvement Officer and Careers and Connexions Personal Advisers. We have excellent links with extended services and work closely with skilled professionals from other agencies.
