How our Trust works
The Brigshaw Co-operative Trust was established on April 1 2010. The Trust builds on, sustains and secures the very successful partnership of schools (The Brigshaw Federation: Allerton Bywater, Brigshaw, Great Preston, Kippax Ash Tree, Kippax Greenfi eld, Kippax North, Lady Elizabeth Hastings, Ledston, and Swillington) – on a permanent, legal basis as a charitable trust.
We believe that a strong partnership of schools enables our children and young people to achieve more. We see all of the 4,000 children and young people from 0 to 19 in our schools and children’s centres as our collective responsibility. Our decision to create a Trust has been affirmed by the current government’s policy to encourage all schools to collaborate more effectively as decision-making and school improvement in our education system becomes more responsive to local needs and priorities.
