Key Stage Four
(Years 10 and 11)
From the age of fourteen our pupils choose combinations of subjects and qualification routes and for most, two-year GCSE courses, or equivalent, are the main learning pathways.
Pupils still follow a number of core subjects: English, Languages, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, and PHSCE (including Citizenship, Religious Education, Sex and Relationship Education and Careers Guidance) together with combinations of subjects from: Creative Arts and Sports, English and Humanities, Languages and Business, Mathematics and Computing and Science and Technology.
Our curriculum is increasingly flexible from Year 10 onwards providing opportunities for our young people to develop according to their individual needs, abilities and aptitudes. We offer one year GCSE courses and provide pathways combining GCSE courses with other forms of accreditation such as Asdan, BTEC and Diplomas. These may include ‘Life Skills’ courses, college-based and work-based learning opportunities.
