Pupil Guidance and Support
At Brigshaw we are proud of the “outstanding care, guidance and support” we provide for our pupils (Ofsted, December 2009). We believe that high quality guidance and support is essential in helping young people become tolerant, confident, independent learners.
During their time at Brigshaw, each pupil belongs to a Tutor Group and we allocate extra Tutors so that every child is well-known. Our Phase Leaders take overall responsibility for pupils’ personal, social and academic development, supported by Achievement Leaders who remain with each year group and ensure that all
pupils are able to fulfil their potential. Referral Managers are
attached to each Phase too. These are support members of staff who are
always on call to deal with day-to-day incidents and are an initial
contact point for parents/carers.
