Embracing the Olympic spirit

We were thrilled to learn that the Outer East Leeds Area Committee and the Leeds Community Foundation were able to donate funds to our Olympic Project. Their generous funding will enable us to provide every child and young person across the Trust and Methley Primary with a T-shirt commemorating the event. Our international visitors will also receive a T-shirt as a keepsake of their visit to the UK.
Cllr Keith Wakefield, Leader of Leeds City Council and Councillor for Kippax and Methley said:"I am delighted to see that such an exciting programme of events has been put together to capitalise on the Olympics. Brigshaw is leading the city and it is inspiring to see young people in our area being given the chance to experience the excitement of this international event and meet visitors from so many different countries. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and promotes the Olympic values of team work, fair play and co-operation."
Cllr Keith Parker, Outer East Area Committee Chair and Councillor for Kippax and Methley said “We are delighted to be able to support such enthusiasm from our local community. Participating schools, students and supporters are all champions and have shown the true Olympic Spirit to build a better world through friendship and solidarity.”
Our student ambassadors wanted to add a personal touch to make the T-shirt really special. They decided to invite Brigshaw students and children across the Trust to use their artistic excellence and creative inspiration to design an official Brigshaw Co-operative Trust 2012 Olympic logo. The logo will take pride of place of the printed T-shirt. We are grateful to Leeds City Council and all our other partners for their support
