Science

Why study Science?

Science is a compulsory part of the National Curriculum and is a valuable qualification for many careers.

Science is essential for certain types of work including primary school teaching and vocational courses. It is especially valuable for people wanting to work in technology, food, health and other science-based careers.

What will I study?

Science is the study and investigation of the natural and physical world around us. All our Science courses consist of a combination of Biology, Chemistry and Physics units.

What skills will I develop?

A lot of your work in Science will be practical. You will continue to develop the skills required to ask questions and complete your own investigations in the search for answers.  You will be expected to write up practical investigations to show all the steps in your thinking. You will also be involved in evaluating your practical experience. Your homework may include information gathering as well as reporting and recording.
