Why study Modern Languages?

Knowledge of a Modern Foreign Language is a skill which is increasingly valued by employers and can lead to better job prospects. Whilst it is useful for those who wish to travel or work abroad, more and more employers and companies have links and offices in Europe and recent research indicates that Languages Graduates have lower unemployment rates than other subjects.

What will I study?

You will study different modules and topics ranging from healthy lifestyles to what you did in your summer holidays.  New vocabulary and grammar structures will be learnt regularly to enable you to be able to communicate effectively in the chosen language. 

What skills will I develop?

You will develop four skill areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.  You will practice and learn vocabulary regularly to help develop your reading and listening skills.
