Why study Physical Education?

The Physical Education course will enable you to develop your interest in and knowledge of sport.  It is also a good starting qualification for any career linked with sport.

What will I study?

Practical areas will range from Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Rounders and Fitness training. You will look at key concepts and key processes in Physical Education including: opportunities, pathways and participation in Physical Education; developing skills, technique and motivation; developing physical and mental capacity; and informed decision making using principles of training and safe exercise. Some other sports such as netball, dance, football, rugby and cricket will be completed in Core PE lessons.

What skills will I develop?

You will develop more advanced skills in many of the sports mentioned above.  In addition, you will have the ability to plan your own fitness programme and develop your analysis skills looking at other performers.
