Ofsted report

Ofsted: a glowing report
“School is good” was a comment one young pupil wrote on their inspection questionnaire and the inspectors wholeheartedly agreed: “This is a Good school and some aspects are Outstanding”.
We received a very favourable Ofsted report with many Outstanding and Good gradings. The highlights of the inspection were: our outstanding level of care, guidance and support; outstanding safeguarding of pupils; and the outstanding contribution our pupils make to the wider community; good teaching; good pupil achievement; good lesson quality together with an acknowledgement of the significant opportunities and curriculum enrichment provided by our specialist status.
This is an important recognition of the commitment and hard work of staff and pupils at Brigshaw especially in light of the recent changes to the Ofsted grading system which has resulted many schools throughout the county being labelled ‘satisfactory’ or ‘under-performing’.
Principal Cath Lennon said “We are delighted that Ofsted Inspectors’ gained a real sense of what makes Brigshaw so special and recognised the many outstanding features of our school. We strive to create an inclusive learning community where our young people feel safe, valued and supported so that they can succeed, both personally and academically, and achieve the best that they can.”
