Brigshaw was awarded Specialist Language College status in 2004. We continue to be a genuinely inclusive comprehensive school and welcome all young people, irrespective of ability or previous attainment.
As a Language College, we believe that confidence in learning and speaking foreign languages is very important for young people. We celebrate the excellent work that goes on at Brigshaw and encourage our pupils to broaden their horizons. Our work as a specialist Language College has resulted in us achieving the prestigious International Schools Award and we have links with schools in France, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Poland, Namibia, China and Italy to name just a few… This means that our pupils can enjoy taking part in visits and exchanges,
