Exam results

Our students achieved some fantastic examination results this year and Principal Cath Lennon, stated:

"We are delighted with our results and tremendously proud of our students. Our high grades and a pass rate of more than 80% reflects the hard work and dedication of students and staff and the fantastic support our young people receive from their families".

 

Highlights

Year 11

  • An outstanding 81% of students achieved at least five or more GCSE passes
  • 54% of students gained at least five or more GCSE passes, including Mathematics and English
  • 91.9% of Year 11 students continued with their learning and 6.5% of leavers secured employment

 

Post 16

  • Almost 50% of our A level grades in 2011 were A*, A and B grades
  • Our A level teaching for 2010 and 2011 was rated a ‘3’ (excellent) by ALPS on a scale of 1-9 (where 1 is outstanding and 9 is poor)
  • For the last 3 years, we have ‘added value’ according to ALPS
  • Nearly 80% of the A level grades in 2011 were A*-C
  • Joe Cooper gained 5 A levels at grades A*,A*,A,A,B and is going to read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge
  • Forty two out of the fifty students who applied got their first choice university
  • 93.1% of Year 12 students continued with their learning and 5.2% moved into employment
  • 81.8% of Year 13/14 students continued with their learning and 13% secured employment.
  • Ali Findlay and Duncan Ion achieved A* and A grades at A level
  • Six students gained all A* grades
