    23rd Jun 2017

This morning 22 students took part in the first National free writing competition, "Let them loose." With only 45 minutes and an image stimulus these students created the most wonderful examples of writing. It was a pleasure to see these talented writers, some who are often disengaged with school, some who are considered disadvantaged loving the opportunity to write without rules. Competition winners will be announced shortly!

Huge congratulation to Bethany Kaye and Stephanie Clements, two lovely past Brigshaw students who went to Buckingham Palace in May to receive their Gold awards.
Stephanie wrote on social media that 'doing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh is definitely one of the best things I've done'.
A proud moment for our very own Ms Rand and all the Dof E staff who work so hard to provide our students the opportunity to take part in the D of E Award.

Year 7 crowned Leeds schools 9 a side rugby league champions

    1st Jun 2017

The year 7 rugby team played in the Sky Try 9s final at Headingley Stadium (home to the Leeds Rhinos) after winning through 4 rounds of tournaments over 3 months. After a tough opening 10 minutes the boys pulled away from Farnley Academy to win 28-8 and be crowned sky try nines champions.
Man of the Match Elliot Roe was presented with a signed ball by Ex England international Chev Walker and 1st team rhinos player Jimmy Keinhorst.
Thanks to the Leeds Rhinos Foundation it was a great experience they will never forget, they got to use the first team changing room, walk out of the tunnel, had music blaring during the warm up, PA announcements during the match and a trophy presentation!
A great effort by a genuinely lovely group of boys who have now played in 3 finals this year and eventually grabbed the silverware. They were a credit to the school at all times (and I mean that wholeheartedly!).
